4-7 Screens and operations during the slide preparation
While section slide preparation is in progress, the “Section Slide Preparation in Progress” screen
is displayed to show the current condition settings and the progress status. For the names of individual
processes, refer to Table 4-7 “Operation status data.”
4-7-1 Screens during slide preparation
① Operation screen during the operation
When sectioning starts, the current operation status data appears on the operation screen. The
screen appears differently depending on the sectioning condition.
Process Description
Initial check Initial check for system errors.
Sample check Presence/absence check of the sample blocks on the sample trays.
Sample feeding
Feeding of sample blocks by the Sample Transfer Robot from trays
to the Sample Holder.
Surface alignment Sample surface angle adjustment by the tilting mechanism.
Cutting height
adjustment
Sample surface height adjustment by the tilting mechanism.
Rough cutting Rough cutting.
Dummy cutting
Displayed during sample attaching and stretching operations before
the next sectioning.
Polishing
Leveling performed to adjust the sample surface before cutting
sections to be attached to slides.
Cutting
Slicing operation performed for section slide preparation. Slices are
stuck on-the-fly onto to the carrier tape.
Mounting movement Attachment of sections from the carrier tape onto slides.
Extension Stretching of sections in the primary extension area.
Number of step layers
Indication of operating number(s) of step layers during the Interval
mode.
ID number
Indication of sample block ID number (barcode of the block) in
process.
