6-1-5 Emptying and cleaning the waste liquid tank
Be sure to empty the waste liquid tank every day before use. Failure to comply may cause the tank
to overflow.
If the inside of the tank becomes dirty and brown or becomes excessively dirty with molds or moss
buildups, clean the inside of the tank with a brush, etc. on a regular basis of approximately once a
month.
For details on the waste liquid tank, refer to 3-8 “Setting the waste liquid tank in place.”
6-1-6 Emptying of the used-blade collection box
Dispose the contents of the used-blade collection box periodically. Use care to avoid cuts on the
hands or fingers. For details on how to install the used-blade collection box, refer to 3-10 “Setting the
used-blade collection box in place.”
*Follow the disposal method prescribed by the applicable laws and regulations. Alternatively,
contact an authorized specialist for the used-blade disposal.
6-1-7 Replacing blades and the carrier tape
When a blade cassette or a carrier tape roll is used up, replace it with the new one.
For the steps of replacing the blade, refer to 3-11 “Setting the dedicated microtome blades
(cassette) replacement in place.”
For details on how to replace the carrier tape, refer to 3-12 “Setting the carrier tape roll replacement
in place.”
6-1-8 Date and time check
The time set in the “Time Settings” screen will be reflected in the logs simultaneously, such as the
sample storage log, the error log, and the date and time the file was saved.
For details, refer to 4-18 “Time setting” of this operation manual.
6-1-9 Error log check
Error logs can be viewed and saved. Save the operation log data to a USB memory device as
necessary.
For details, refer to 4-17-2 “Saving the error log” in this Operation Manual.
● When replacing slicing blades or disposing used blades, use care to avoid
cuts on the hands or fingers.

Before replacing the carrier tape roll, remove the used blades in the used-
blade collection box. Use great care to avoid cuts on the hands or fingers
with the slicing blade.
