4-5 Preoperational self-diagnosis

on the “SLIDE PREPARATION SETTING” screen to run error checks on the items
listed below. If any error is detected, an error message will appear. The below messages show the
typical error messages warning of free-space shortage in the slide collection box (dry chamber).
When an error message appears, follow the instructions in Chapter 5 “Errors and Troubleshooting”
to fix the error and conduct a reboot.

Error Description
Sample Check
Caution
The sensor of the Sample Transfer Robot detects the presence/absence
of samples on each tray. This error message appears when no sample is
detected in the selected sample position.
No room in the slide
collection box
This error message appears when the number of storable slides saved in
the System memory is smaller than the number of slides to be prepared
in the next run.
No Slide Cassettes
Caution-1
There are too few slides set in place.
This error message appears when more than 100 slides are necessary
for the next run and two cassette racks are not reloaded with cassettes.
No Slide Cassettes
Caution-2
There are too few slides set in place.
This error message appears when two cassette racks are not reloaded
with cassettes when the use of two types of slides (slide cassettes) is
enabled.
Carrier Tape Shortage
This error message appears when the remaining length of the carrier
tape is shorter than the required length.
Slide Remaining
This error message appears when any slides are left in the section
mounting or extension area.
4-5-1 “Start” prompt and warning messages
Before starting operation, the following checks are run for the selected sectioning condition:
• Slide storage capacity
• Feeding number of the slides
• Remaining length of the carrier tape
• Remaining number of blades
• Availability of the used-blade collection boxes
If the slide collection box or slide cassettes are set beyond the maximum capacity, the System will
fail to start sectioning. In this case, touch BACK to return to the “Slide Preparation Condition Settings”
screen and change the sectioning condition. Alternatively, touch MAIN to recheck the dry chamber or
slide feeding unit.
