1-3 Additional processes
The following optional processes are available to add to the section slide preparation process:
1-3-1 Auto Trimming (sample surface image detection) (option
)
This option enables the System to perform rough-cutting (trimming) while automatically monitoring the
exposure of the tissue on the sample block surface via a CCD camera under two LED lights (incident
and reflective). The System continues trimming until tissue is exposed for the predetermined tissue
exposure ratio (%).
1-3-2 Sample identification function (option)
This option consists of a barcode reader and printer. The barcode reader reads the barcode printed
on the sample cassette. The printer prints the barcode on a slide so that the second barcode reader will
read and check the barcode printed on the slide against the original.

The sample identification presupposes that a sample (cassette) must be
printed or labeled with barcode.
●
The barcode reader may fail to read the barcodes which are too faint,
covered with paraffin, or stained.
●
The sample identification function allows printing of the read barcode and
associated data.
