AS-410M Auto Slide Preparation System
This chapter contains the following information: System configuration of the AS-410M Auto Slide
Preparation System; Tissue slide preparation process; System specifications; and Components and their
names.
1-1 System overview and configuration
Intended Use:
This System automatically mounts sections of paraffin-embedded human tissue blocks (samples) to
glass slides, which is usually performed manually for the preparation of human tissue sections used for
histopathological diagnosis. It conveniently automates the process from sectioning, transferring, and
mounting of the sections to the slides, then stretching, and drying of the slides. The slides that this
System prepares can be used for histopathological diagnosis after staining.
The Main Unit of the System consists primarily of a 24-Sample Feeding Unit, a Sectioning Unit, a Carrier
Tape Unit, a 100-Slide Feeding Unit, a Slide Transfer Unit, a Mounting Unit, and an Extension Device.
The System is expandable with the following optional units: 6-Sample Feeding Unit; 96-Sample Feeding
Unit; 400-Slide Feeding Unit; 100-Slide Dry Chamber; 400-Slide Dry Chamber; Sample Identification
Unit (barcode printer/ barcode reader); Blade Mark Check Unit; and Auto Trimming (sample surface
image detection) Unit.
This System must be installed with either of the following Dry Chamber (optional
extension unit): 100-Slide Dry Chamber or 400-Slide Dry Chamber.
