7.7.2 Acquire straightness data
After you enter the profile dimensions, the Laser Align Application automatically advances
to the next step, which is to acquire straightness data (Acquire Data). After completing this
step, the Acquire Data function on the Laser Align Application main menu is marked with
an X.
Prerequisites
Ensure the laser and sensor are mounted on the machines, turned on, and the sensor is
paired with the analyzer.
Procedure
1.
Enter the profile dimensions and press Enter.
2. Make sure the position of the laser and sensor displayed on the analyzer matches
the actual positions of the laser and sensor in a machine train in the series of
measurements defined for the straightness job.
See Section 7.2.8 for more information on changing the placement of the laser and
sensor.
3. Start from the farthest point in the segment and adjust the laser and sensor (making
sure the laser beam enters the sensor without a significant angular deviation), and
press F3 Accept Readings to take a reading.
Tip
All the laser adjustment LED lights should be blinking green while you are taking the reading.
