PROFIBUS NETWORK
The Computer communicates with the Motion
Control Modules through the Profibus Interface
board. (Illustration 4) The Profibus Network Cable
runs in series to U11 Motion Control Module,
through the AR9 Safety Computer and then
through all of the Input/Output Nodes and A8
Modbus converter. The U1 Motion Controller
communicates with all of the Servo Drives and
Servo Motors using a second Profibus Network
running between all of the components of the
Servo System.
MODBUS NETWORK
The Computer communicates with the Rotary and
Linear Actuator Motors through the Profibus
Interface to the Modbus Converter Module.
(Illustration 3) The Modbus Converter Module
converts the Profibus communication to Modbus
communication and sends this information to the
Rotary and Linear Actuator Motors. The Rotary
and Linear Actuator Motors send position
feedback information to the Computer over the
Modbus and Profibus Network.
