SYSTEM OVERVIEW - A4 SAFETY LASER
SCANNER:
The Safety Laser Scanner is a “Protective Shield”
that covers the Loaf Lift and Infeed area of the
Slicer. (Illustration 113)
Important!
The Socket Assembly that the A4 Laser
Scanner plugs into, are programmed at
Formax prior to shipping! (Illustration 115) If
the Socket Assembly is not programmed
correctly, the Laser Scanner will not work! It
is possible to plug a new A4 Laser Scanner
into an old Socket Assembly as long as the
Assembly was already programmed.
The operator can load product onto the Loaf Lift
Tray when it is in the “down” position, without
interrupting the machine operation. The
“Protective Field” shields the machine while the
Loaf Lift Tray raises. If there is an obstruction in
the field while the Loaf Lift is raising, the Safety
CPU will stop the operation of the Loaf Lift. The
HA1 Horn will sound indicating a Scanner
Breach.
If there is no obstruction in the field:
1. 24 VDC sent from Safety Output 1,
terminal 4, to energize the KA6 Relay.
(Illustration 114)
2. 24 VDC sent from Safety Output 2,
terminal 3, to energize the KA5 Relay.
3. 24 VDC transfers from wire 19 to wire 18
and is sent to terminal 1 on the AR5
Safety Input Module. This tells the
Computer that there is no obstruction in
the Safety Laser Field.
4. 24 VDC “Feed Back” Signal to the
terminal 6 on the Safety Laser Scanner
telling it that the KA5/KA6 Relay is not
energized.
