GRIPPER ASSEMBLY
The Gripper Assemblies are used to hold the Butt End
of the loaves. When the Grippers retract to allow the
Loaf Gate to open, the Gripper Teeth and the Infeed
conveyors hold up the Product. If the Grippers do not
get a good bite on the Butt End, the loaf will break and
fall into the Shear Bar. To maintain your Gripper
Assemblies in good working order, follow these
procedures:
1. HANDLE WITH CARE
The Grippers are fragile. The teeth will bend easily.
Store the Grippers on the “Cleanup Cart,” when they
are not in use.
2. KEEP SHARP
Keep the Gripper teeth sharp. The teeth must be able to
penetrate the loaf. The sharper the teeth, the easier the
penetration; especially on colder products.
3. CHECK ALL SCREWS AND FASTENERS
Check all screws and fasteners on a daily basis. Use
Loctite
®
on all loose screws to ensure safe operation.
