Connecting the Notebook with the Server
Proceed as follows:
1. Using an Ethernet cable, connect the Ethernet port of the notebook to any empty
Ethernet port of the PCI card in slot 3 (c) on the back of the server (see Figure 64 for
the Entry model). You can also use the onboard LAN 2 port (a).

2. Configure the network settings on the notebook.

This procedure assumes you are running Windows XP on the computer. The
steps might be different if you are using another operating system.
a) On the Windows Start menu, click Settings > Control Panel > Network and Internet
Connections > Network Connections.
b) Right-click the network connection that corresponds to the Ethernet port you have
connected to the server (for example, Local Area Connection), and click Properties.
c) Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the list of connections, then click Properties.
The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window displays (see Figure 65).
