Entry
This version provides a base amount of network throughput and data storage facility. It
includes the following features:
● 1 server/storage unit with 1 CPU (6 cores / 12 threads), 128GB RAM and either 4TB or
8TB usable disk space.
● 5 x 1GbE ports for NFS and CIFS (to the customer LAN)
● Optionally: JX40 storage modules, with 4, 8, 12 or 16TB of additional disk capacity.
● Optionally: 2 x 8Gb Fibre Channel ports (factory installed option)
● Optionally: 2 x 10GbE (factory installed option/field upgradeable)
With the Entry model, 4 × 2.5" 600 GB SAS hard disk (10,000 rpm) are building up RAID 1
disk groups used for the operating system and backup metadata. Further 6 or 12 × 2.5" 1TB
SATA hard disks (7,200 rpm) are building up one or two RAID 6 (4+2) disk groups used as
the backup storage with a capacity of 4 or 8TB.
ETERNUS CS800 S5 with an entire capacity of 12, 16, 20 or 24 TB uses an ETERNUS
JX40 storage module with 6, 12, 18 or 24 x 2.5" 1TB Nearline SAS hard disks (7,200 rpm)
building up one to four additional RAID 6 (4+2) disk groups for backup data.
