BeforeattemptingtocleanaNellcorsensor,readtheInstructionsforUseenclosed
withthesensor.Eachsensorhascleaninginstructionsspecictothatsensor.
Materials:
●Papertowels
●Soft,lint-freecloths
●Water(tapwaterisacceptable)
●Cleaningagents:
￭Isopropylalcohol,maximum60%byweight,or
￭Bleach,mixtenpartswaterto1part5.25%bleachtocreatean0.5%bleach
concentration,or
￭PDISani-ClothBleachGermicidalDisposableWipes
Ensureatleast30secondsofcontacttimebetweenthecleaningagentandall
surfacesbeingcleaned.
Tocleanthemonitoringcable:
1.Poweroffthehostmonitoringsystem.
2.Ifasensorisconnectedtothemonitoringcable,disconnectthesensor.
3.Moisten(butdonotsaturate)apapertowelwithwater.Removeexcesswater
asnecessary.
4.Startingatthesensorportendofthemonitoringcable,usethemoistenedpaper
toweltosoftenandloosenanybulkysoilsontheexteriorofthemonitoringcable,
thenwipethemoff.
5.Moisten(butdonotsaturate)acleanlint-freeclothwithoneofthecleaning
agentslisted.
Donotspraythecleaningagentintothesensorport.
DonotcleanthemetalUSBconnectorwiththecleaningagent.Thecleaning
agentcandamagetheconnector.
6.Wipedownallexternalsurfacesofthemonitoringcable,removingallvisible
soil,ensuringnottowipetheUSBconnector.Beginatthesensorportendof
thecableandworktowardtheoppositeend.Payspecialattentiontotheareas
showninthefollowinggure.
