Prior to use of the cu, empty the cu unl there is no residual air inside it to ensure accurate measurement.
Do NOT twist the air tube or put heavy things on it.
When unplugging the air tube, hold the head of the connector and pull it out.
The NIBP measurement will not be aected when the monitor is connected to the paent on whom the electro-
surgical unit and debrillator is being used.
The appearance of arrhythmia results in irregular heart beat which may aect the accuracy of NIBP measurement.
It is recommended to take the measurement again at this situaon.
The blood pressure measurements determined with this device are equivalent to those obtained by a trained
observer using the cu/stethoscope auscultatory method, within the limits prescribed by the American Naonal
Standard, manual, electronic, or automated sphygmomanometers.
The monitor can be used on the paent who are pregnant or pre-eclampc, but close aenon should be paid to
such paents.
The performance of NIBP funcon can be aected by the extremes of temperature, humidity and altude, please
use it within the appropriate working environment.
9.3 Measurement Limitaons
1. Serious angiospasm, vasoconstricon, or too weak pulse.
2. When extremely low or high heart rate or serious arrhythmia of the paent occurs. Especially auricular brillaon
will lead to unreliable or impossible measurement.
3. Do not take the measurement when the paent is connected with an arcial heart-lung machine.
4. Do not take the measurement when the paent uses diuresis or vasodilator.
5. When the paent is suering from major hemorrhage, hypovolemic shock and other condions with rapid blood
pressure change or when the paent has too low body temperature, the reading will not be reliable, for reduced
peripheral blood ow will lead to reduced arterial pulsaon.
6. Paent with hyperadiposis;
9.4 Measurement Mode
There are three measuring mode for NIBP measurement:
Manual: measurement on demand.
Auto: connually repeated measurements at set intervals.
STAT: connually rapid series of measurements over a ve minute period, then return to the previous mode.

9.5.1 Preparing to Measure NIBP
1. Power on the monitor.
