2. Check the paent informaon area on the screen. Set a correct paent type, select a correct cu size.
3. Connect the tube with cu to the connector marked with “NIBP” icon on the signal input panel.
4. Select a cu with correct size, then unfold the cu and wrap it around the paent’s upper arm as follows:
 Determine the paent’s limb circumference.
 Select an appropriate cu by referring to the limb circumference marked on the cu. The width of the cu
should be 40% of the limb circumference, or 2/3 of the upper arm’s length. The inatable part of the cu should
be long enough to encircle at least 50% to 80% of the limb. When pung on the cu, unfold and wrap it around
the upper arm evenly to appropriate ghtness.
 Remember to empty the residual air in the cu before the measurement is commenced.
 Locate the cu in such a way that the artery mark «» is at a locaon where the clearest pulsaon of brachial
artery is observed.
 The cu should be ghtened to a degree where inseron of one nger is allowed.
 The lower end of the cu should be 2cm above the elbow joint.
9.5.2 Starng and Stopping Measurements
Starng and Stopping NIBP Measurements by pressing NIBP measure key “ ”.
 Too frequent blood pressure measurements may cause purpura, ischemia and neuropathy in the limb with the
cu. Inspect the applicaon site regularly to ensure skin quality and inspect the extremity of the cued limb for
normal color, warmth and sensivity. If any abnormity occurs, move the cu to another site or stop the blood
pressure measurements immediately.
9.5.3 Factors Aecng NIBP Measurement
Like common non-invasive blood pressure measurement, improper operaon may cause inaccurate or blank result
or misunderstanding of the measuring informaon when the oscillometric method is used to take the blood pressure
measurement. These points need parcular aenon of the operators.
1. Requirements of the cu:
1) Appropriate cu should be selected according to the age of the paent.
2) Remember to empty the residual air in the cu before the measurement is commenced.
