CHECKING THE WATER PUMP
1. Check:
• water pump housing cover ①
• water pump housing ②
• impeller ③
• rubber damper ④
• rubber damper holder ⑤
• o-ring ⑥
Cracks/damage/wear
Replace.
NOTE:
Apply lithium-soap-based grease to the o-ring.
2. Check:
• water pump seal ①
• oil seal ②
• water pipe ③
Cracks/damage/wear
Replace.
• bearing ④
Rough movement
Replace.
NOTE:
Apply lithium-soap-based grease to the oil seal
and
apply engine oil to the bearing
3. Measure:
• impeller shaft tilt
Straightedge ①
Impeller ②
Out of specification
Replace.
Max. impeller shaft tilt
0.15 mm (0.006 in)
