CNC controls and display
A CNC controls cutting system operation.
The CNC has the following functions:
■
Executes part programs from Computer-aided Design (CAD) and Computer-aided Manufacturing
(CAM) software.
■
Sends commands to the cutting system through a CNC interface cable (or wireless connection)
between the CNC (or wireless device) and the plasma power supply.
■
Adapts to feedback signals it receives from the cutting system or operator.
Some cutting system commands, settings, and displays can be seen and controlled from different CNC
screens.
The power-indicator LED shows power status. All other visual indications of cutting system performance
show on the CNC or the XPR web interface.
CNC interfaces can include these screens:
■
Main (control) screen
■
Process setup screen
■
Diagnostic screen
■
Test screen
■
Cut chart screen
Refer to the instruction manual for your CNC for descriptions of CNC
screens.
