IEC symbols
You can see different IEC symbols on the system. Each image has a specific meaning in the context of
operating a plasma cutting system.
The following symbols can appear on the data plate, control labels, and switches.
Direct current (DC)
Alternating current (AC)
Plasma torch cutting
Gouging
AC input power connection
The terminal for the external protective (earth) (PE) conductor
Power is ON
Power is OFF
A 1-phase or 3-phase inverter-based power source
Volt/amperage curve, “drooping” characteristic
