Replacing the Management Ethernet Cable on the SRX5400 Services
Gateway
One Ethernet cable with RJ-45 connectors is provided with the services gateway.
Before you begin to replace the management ethernet cable:
Ensure you understand how to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. See “Prevention of
Electrostatic Discharge Damage” on page 411.
Ensure that you have the following available:
ESD grounding strap
To replace the cable connected to the ETHERNET port:
1. Wrap and fasten one end of the ESD grounding strap around your bare wrist, and connect the other
end of the strap to the ESD point on the chassis.
2. Press the tab on the connector and pull the connector straight out of the port. Figure 119 on page 307
shows the connector.
3. Disconnect the cable from the network device.
4. Plug one end of the replacement cable into the ETHERNET port. Figure 120 on page 307 shows the
port.
5. Plug the other end of the cable into the network device.
