CWIEEX2
Appendix F reviews general information, installation guidelines, and connection diagrams for Keyscan RS485
Wiegand Extenders (WIEEX2) and COAX Wiegand Extenders (CWIEEX2). Wiegand extenders are used on doors
and readers that exceed the 500 feet maximum distance from the ACU. When installing the CWIEEX2 &
WIEEX2 extenders please check the version and observe the corresponding wiring diagram as indicated below.
Each type of Wiegand extender – CWIEEX2 and WIEEX2 – includes 1 transmitter and 1 receiver. The following
additional components may be required to complete the installation of Wiegand extenders:
• 12VDC 1Amp power supply with battery backup
• mounting interface enclosure
Important
Do not mix CWIEEX2 or WIEEX2 (firmware 6.00 or higher) receivers and transmitters with previous
generation CWIEEX or WIEEX (firmware 5.03 or lower) receivers and transmitters.
