6.3 Sending and Receiving Short Text Messages
You can
exchange short text messages (up to 100
alphanumeric characters) with other iPECS display
phone users. If there are messages, the message icon
will be displayed on the LCD screen in LIP-8024D. If the
ring/message LED is set to Message Wait Indication
(PGM111-FLEX10), the ring/message LED will flash.
To access your Voice Mail Box from a Remote Location:
ï‚· Lift the handset,
ï‚· Dial the telephone number of a DISA CO line answered
by the VMIM/VSF/VMIB Auto Attendant,
ï‚· At answer,
dial # to receive the ‘Mail Box & Password’ prompt
(iPECS-LIK),
dial 523 (VMIB Access Code)(iPECS-MG),,
 Dial the Mail Box and password to receive the ‘Number
of Messages’ prompt,
 Dial ‘*’ (iPECS-MG),
ï‚· Dial desired option codes,
ï‚· At completion of session, hang-up.
In iPECS-LIK
To send an SMS message to another iPECS display
Phone:
ï‚· Press the
TRANS/PGM button,
ï‚· Dial 36 (SMS send code),
ï‚· Dial 1 to resend an existing message, or 2 to send a
new or edit an existing message,
ï‚· Enter the station range to receive the message, to
send to a single station enter the station number twice,
ï‚· Dial your message using 2 key strokes for each
character (refer to Character Entry Chart(iPECS-LIK) in
Section 4.3.4).
ï‚· Press
HOLD/SAVE to send your message.
