4. Insert the solenoid into the rocker shaft port
and push downward firmly with the palm of
the hand to fully seat the solenoid.
The solenoid must be fully seated by significant
hand pressure. The retaining clips will not seat a
solenoid that has not already been fully seated.

5. Snap both clips around the bottom of the
rocker shaft.
Latching and unlatching the solenoid retaining
clips requires a great deal of finger pressure to
overcome the large amount of spring tension.
Care must be used to avoid pinching the fingers
or snapping the latches against the fingers.

6. After the retaining clips have been installed,
inspect the solenoid-to-rocker shaft mating
surfaces. The surfaces of both components
must be fully seated against each other.
