Enhanced Bubble Point
The Enhanced Bubble Point test is a combination of a diffusion test followed by a bubble point test to
determine if a filter is integral. The Enhanced Bubble Point test is the test recommended by Millipore for
most applications. Exceptions to this are;
• low area devices which do not have diffusion specifications
• large multi-cartridge systems where it is difficult to determine the bubble point.
HydroCorr Test
The HydroCorr test is a water-based integrity test for hydrophobic filters.
HydroCorr Test Initial Gas Volume
The volume of gas located on the upstream side of a HydroCorr test filter before test pressure is
applied. This volume must be maintained within the range defined by the Minimum and Maximum Gas
Volumes. If the actual initial gas volume is outside of this range, the accuracy of the test could be
compromised. An error message will result and the test will stop.
HydroCorr Test Time
The HydroCorr test time defines the duration of the test. Unlike a Diffusion test, the HydroCorr test will
run for the entire time programmed here.
Hydrophilic
A term used to describe molecules or molecular groups that are attracted to water and other polar
solvents.
Hydrophobic
A term used to describe molecules or molecular groups that mix poorly with water and other polar
solvents.
Integrity Test
Non-destructive, non-contaminating test used to determine whether or not a filter has a defect capable
of passing particles that should be retained.
Legend
Legends may include any form of test-specific data, which a user might wish to associate with the testing
and reporting process:
• Lot Numbers
• Serial Numbers
Mandatory
If data is defined as mandatory, a test cannot be run without the designated information.
Membrane Filter
A matrix that removes particles larger than the specified pore size.
