16.12.3. Execution of blood recovery
(1) Turn on [BYPASS] SW to enable bypass mode with [BYPASS] SW lamp ON.
(2) Turn off [ON/OFF] SW of syringe pump to stop it without flow rate indication.
(3) Turn off [ON/OFF] SW of blood pump to stop it without flow rate indication.
(4) Set saline vial to hanger.
(5) Fill drip chamber of saline infusion set with saline until the level in the chamber arrives
at 1/2 to 3/4 of full height of it.
(6) Clamp arterial shunt joint line and arterial access line of AVF needle at positions near
their connected part.
(7) Clamp syringe infusion line.
(8) Disconnect arterial shunt joint line from arterial access line of AVF needle.
(9) Connect arterial shunt joint line to saline vial through saline line and open clamp of the
line.
(10) Turn flow rate setting volume of blood pump to the left fully.
(11) Turn on [ON/OFF] SW of blood pump to operate it with flow rate indication.
(12) Set flow rate by operating flow rate setting volume of blood pump.
(13) Pass sufficient volume of saline through blood line and dialyzer to recover blood from
them.
(14) When saline arrives at position near distal end of venous line, turn off [ON/OFF] SW of
blood pump to stop it without flow rate indication.
(15) Clamp venous shunt joint line.
(16) Clamp venous access line of AVF needle of patient and disconnect it from venous
shunt joint line.
16.12.4. Removal of coupler
(1) Turnover dialyzer to direct venous port (blue) upward.
(2) Check that bypass operation is enabled and that [BYPASS] SW lamp is ON.
(3) Remove coupler (blue) from dialysate inlet port of dialyzer.
(4) Press [DRAIN] SW once to start draining with indication of <DRAIN> at upper part of
screen. The draining is executed for specified time followed by the draining stop
without indication of <DRAIN> at the part.
(5) Check that dialysate is discharged from dialyzer.
(6) Disconnect coupler (red) from dialysate outlet port of dialyzer and connect the coupler
to intermediate connector followed by setting them to coupler receiver.
