DANGER
z Cleaning of electric circuits in the machine is very dangerous and hazardous. The circuit
covers should be removed by authorized personnel only.
11.3 Disinfection of fluid line inside
Fluid line inside can be disinfected by executing disinfection/rinsing operation after
selecting rinse mode.
WARNING
z Disinfect dialysate line inside after each dialysis termination. If not disinfected for a long
time, the machine inside may be contaminated with proliferated microorganisms, which may
be introduced into patient body, threatening his/her life.
11.3.1 Concentration of disinfectant concentrate
Use of sodium hypochlorite solution is recommended to disinfect the machine.
Usable concentration of sodium hypochlorite concentrate is ≦6%. Check the
concentration indicated on its container and dilute to ≦6% if required.
CAUTION
z If Na hypochlorite concentrate of concentration exceeding 6% is used, fluid line materials
may be damaged.
z If the concentrate is required to be diluted, use haemodialyis-quality water specified by
AAMI.
z DO NOT connect the concentrate to the machine for a long time. The concentration may be
reduced by evaporation of Na hypochlorite, causing insufficient disinfection performance.
11.3.2 Diluted disinfectant concentration and disinfection time
After checking that Na hypochlorite concentrate is connected to the machine, set the
diluted concentration to 1000ppm and disinfection time to 50min≦Disinfection time
≦60min or diluted concentration to 300ppm and disinfection time to 6 hours≦
Disinfection time≦24 hours in maintenance mode 7.
WARNING
z If the diluted concentration is lower than 1000ppm and disinfection time is shorter than 50
minutes, sufficient disinfection performance can not be obtained. Therefore, fluid line inside
may be contaminated with proliferated microorganisms, which may be introduced into
patient body, threatening his/her life.
