(8) 3 minutes after the start, check that water level indication in measuring cylinder is
300mL±10%.
Error may be included in read water volume collected in the cylinder because the water
level is determined visually. Take care of this.
18.2.8. Check of accuracy of bubble sensor
18.2.8.1. Preferable method
(1) Required devices
Blood line, dialyzer, saline and micro-syringe (possible infusion of 0.05mL)
(2) Set blood line and dialyzer to the machine to prime them with saline.
(3) Turn on [ON/OFF] SW of blood pump to operate it at 200mL/min.
(4) Turn on [ON/OFF] SW of bubble sensor and check that BUBBLE is not alerted.
(5) Infuse about 0.05mL of air in line between venous drip chamber and bubble sensor
using micro-syringe under care for the air bubble is not divided.
(6) Check that BUBBLE is alerted at time when the bubble passes through the sensor.
(7) Check the following alarm functions:
z Audible alarm actuation
z Indication of alarm message in alarm screen
z Closing of clamp
z Stop of blood pump
18.2.8.2. Simple method
(1) Set water filled blood line to bubble sensor.
(2) Turn on [ON/OFF] SW of bubble sensor and check that BUBBLE is not alerted.
(3) Push the sensor by finger lightly and check that BUBBLE is alerted.
(4) Check the following alarm functions:
z Audible alarm actuation
z Indication of alarm message in alarm screen
z Closing of clamp
z Stop of blood pump
