15.3. Setting of blood line, dialyzer and syringe
1. Set blood line to the machine.
2. Set dialyzer to the machine.
3. Set syringe to syringe pump.
4. Setting of syringe pump
15.3.1. Setting of blood line
(1) Prepare blood line authorized by us or the equivalent.
(2) Check no damage of the line.
(3) Close clamp on level adjusting line in arterial side and that on arterial pressure monitor
line followed by setting arterial drip chamber to holder.
(4) When arterial pressure sensor (option) is used, connect the pressure monitor line to
pressure inlet of arterial pressure sensor under care of no line folding and/or twisting.
(5) Open blood pump cover.
(6) Load rolling tube in arterial line to blood pump. Insert the tube in space between the
pump rotor and housing and rotate the pump clockwise manually.
(7) Close the pump cover.
(8) Close clamp on level adjusting line in venous side and that on venous pressure monitor
line followed by setting venous drip chamber to holder.
(9) Connect the monitor line to pressure inlet of venous pressure sensor under care of no
line folding and/or twisting.
(10) Load bubble detector to main venous tube by holding top and bottom of the detector by
fingers.
(11) Load clamp to main venous tube.
15.3.2. Setting of dialyzer
(1) Set dialyzer to holder under directing venous side (blue) upward.
(2) Connect arterial line to arterial port (red) of dialyzer.
(3) Connect venous line to venous port (blue) of dialyzer.
15.3.3. Setting of syringe
(1) Remove air from fluid drug contained in syringe by advancing plunger.
(2) Shift pusher of syringe pump to the right end under pressing it.
(3) Set syringe to holder of the pump so that syringe plunger is received in slit of the
pusher.
(4) Fix syringe by turning syringe holding lever.
15.3.4. Setting of syringe pump
15.3.4.1. Setting of cross-section ratio of syringe
Calculate ratio of cross-sectional area of syringe intended to be used to that of Nipro 20ml
syringe (292.5mm

) as 100% and set the ratio.
When the set ratio is 50%, pusher moves at a doubled speed compared with the case that
