11.4 Removal of calcium deposit from fluid line inside
Execute acid rinse in rinse mode to remove calcium deposit from fluid line inside.
WARNING
z When bicarbonate dialysate is used, calcium salt is deposited in fluid line inside. The
deposition may cause microbial proliferation and malfunction of the machine
components. Remove the deposit once or more weekly.
11.4.1 Concentration of acetic acid concentrate
It is recommended to use acetic acid to remove the deposit.
Usable concentration of acetic acid concentrate is 50%.
Check the concentration indicated on the container and dilute to 50% if necessary.
CAUTION
z If acetic acid concentrate of concentration exceeding 50% is used, fluid line materials
may be damaged.
z If the concentrate is required to be diluted, use haemodialysis-quality water specified by
AAMI.
z DO not connect the concentrate to the machine for a long time. The concentration may be
reduced by evaporation of acetic acid, causing insufficient calcium deposit removing
performance.
11.4.2 Diluted disinfectant concentration and disinfection time
After checking that acetic acid concentrate is connected to the machine, set the diluted
concentration to 1-2% and acid rinse time to 30 minutes in maintenance mode
7.
11.4.2 Concentration of acetic acid to be diluted
WARNING
z If diluted acetic acid concentration is lower than 1% and acid rinse time is shorter than 30
minutes, microbial proliferation and malfunction of the machine components may be
caused.
