Chapter 18
CHECK AND MAINTENANCE
1. Check and maintenance by operator
2. Check and maintenance by engineer
3. Check and maintenance by qualified engineer
WARNING
z During check and maintenance of the machine, DO NOT connect patient to it.
18.1. Check and maintenance by operator
Items to be checked and maintained of the machine by well trained operator or service man
having sufficient knowledge how to check and maintain the machine are as follows:
1. Check and maintenance before and after operation of the machine (at each dialysis)
2. Cleaning of enclosure of the machine (at each dialysis)
3. Disinfection and rinsing of fluid lines (at each dialysis)
4. Acetic acid rinsing of fluid lines (weekly)
18.1.1. Check and maintenance before and after operation
Check the below items before and after operation of the machine to confirm that those are
normal.
(1) No troubles such as leak from circumference of the machine, in particular from fluid
supply ports and loosened hose clamp of drain port
(2) No foreign matters such as chemical on enclosure of the machine
(3) No error when test mode is executed
(4) Closed main valve of water supply side when the machine is not operated overnight
(5) Check syringe can be injected according setting value.
18.1.1.1. Test mode
Functions of the machine are self diagnosed simply by executing test mode.
(1) Before start of test, it is required:
To close blood pump cover;
Not to connect any object to bubble detector;
Not to connect any object to venous pressure sensor and expose the sensor to
atmosphere;
Not to connect any object to arterial pressure sensor and expose the sensor to
atmosphere; and
Not to connect patient to the machine.
