Appendix A: TARGA 3000 Effects Guide
The Difference Between Filters And Transitions
Transitions and filters are treated in very similar ways in the TARGA 3000. A transition
is an effect that combines two video input sources, and a filter is an effect that modifies
just a single input source. The output of a transition is a video frame while the output of a
filter is a video frame and a key signal that indicates how it should be keyed over elements
beneath it in the timeline. Other than these two key features there are no other differences
in the way that filters and transitions are created and used. Pre-created TARGA 3000
effects have been stored into 2 principle sub-directories: filters and transitions. It is
encouraged that the user follow this convention for custom effects.
How To Launch The Effects Editor
The Effects Factory can be launched in one of four ways:
From the “New Effect” button in the TARGA Transition Picker
From the “Edit Effect” button in the TARGA Transition Picker
From the “New Effect” button in the TARGA Filter Picker
From the “Edit Effect” button in the TARGA Filter Picker
