Keyframer
The keyframer is the component that allows you to vary effects over time. Any operations
that are performed simply by working in the effects tree and the parameter pages without
touching the timeline will create static effects.
Timescale
When creating a new effect the keyframer will default to a timescale of 1 second. This
timescale will then be interpolated to the length of the actual effect in the timeline that is
created. The default length of the effect is indicated by the blue color on the time markers.
An effect can be extended beyond this timescale simply by adding keyframes beyond 1
second.
Note: To change the scale of time you are viewing hold down the Ctrl key and drag the timeline.
Alternatively, you can right click on the timeline to change the scale to be viewed.
Setting Keyframes
Keyframes are set by moving the timeline to the desired position in time by dragging the
slider bar and making changes to a parameter. This act will automatically create a
keyframe at the new position, and this keyframe will be visible as a circle on the timeline.
Keyframes are set independently for each node. When you select a node in the tree, then
the keyframes for that node will appear as the larger circles in the timeline. Keyframes
that are associated with other nodes in the tree appear as the smaller diamonds above the
circles.
