4 Start-up
Note
Only specialized personnel who have been authorized and trained by
SENNEBOGEN are allowed to perform repair, maintenance and
measurement tasks.
4.1 Safety instructions
Note
Also comply with the safety instructions in Section 1 Safety before start-
up.
WARNING
 Please read CHAPTER 1 SAFETY.
Before start-up, carry out checks in accordance with Section 4.5.
 Check that all machine protective features are complete and
properly secured.
 Ensure that the gallery/operator catwalk has been installed properly.
Falling out when the door is open (with optional seat belt in place) is
no longer possible in this case.
 Wear protective work clothing (e.g. protective helmet, protective
glasses) if working conditions necessitate. At working heights of
2.00 m or more, SENNEBOGEN recommends the use of a safety
harness to prevent falling. At working heights above 3.00 m, using a
safety harness is required legally.
Hanging rings are marked.
 Take off jewelry or loose clothing.
 Secure loose items e.g. tools or other accessories.
 Agree on hand signals with the banksman.
 Obtain information on first aid and rescue facilities.
 Enter and exit the machine only when it is stationary. Use the
appropriate access ladders and ladders:
– If necessary, clean access ladders and ladders before use
– Do not carry any items when climbing up or down. Hoist items of
equipment onto the machine using rope or lifting equipment.
– Do not use operating instruments in the cab as grip handles.
 Ensure that there is no one in the danger area.
 Check the machine safety features (e.g. brakes, signal and lighting
equipment).
 Check that the operating instruments and protective features are
functioning correctly while driving slowly.
