4.10.6 Jump starting
The machine is equipped with a 24 volt starting system. Ensure that the
external power source has the same voltage.
CAUTION
If a power source with a higher voltage is used, this can cause serious
damage to the machine's electrical system.
Note
The jump lead must be made of copper and have a minimum cross-
section of 70 mm

WARNING
Explosion hazard!
Avoid creating sparks by fire, open fire, or smoking.
Battery acid is corrosive.
Avoid any contact with the skin, eyes or clothing. Rinse acid
splashes and spills with clean water immediately. It may be
necessary to seek the attention of a physician.
When working on the electrical system, adhere to valid standards
and accident prevention regulations.
1 Actuate the battery isolator switch to disconnect the power
supply.
2 Remove the battery cover where applicable.
3 Connect the positive terminal (+) of the power source using
appropriate jump leads.
4 Connect the negative terminal (-) of the jumping battery using
the jump lead to the engine block or an unpainted metal part of
the receiver connected to it.
5 Activate the battery disconnecting switch.
6 Start the engine in accordance with Section 4.10.4.
7 Switch on electrical consumers (protection against
overvoltage)
8 Removal:
– Detach the jump lead from the negative terminal (-).
– Detach the jump lead from the positive terminal (+).
9 Switch off electrical consumers
10 Replace the battery cover where applicable.
