8.2 Hydraulic system
Oil leaks from hydraulic
system
Cause Remedy
Hose connections loose – Tighten the hose connections.
Hoses or seals
damaged
– Replace the hoses or seals.
Hydraulic pump
not working
Cause Remedy
Fault in the pump circuit – Have the fault inspected and corrected
by a hydraulics specialist.
Operating equipment
out of order or
operating incorrectly
Cause Remedy
Hydraulic oil level too
low
– Check the hydraulic oil level.
– Add hydraulic oil if required.
Leaks in the hydraulic
system
– Check the working cylinder,
connections and hoses for leaks.
– Have the fault corrected by a hydraulics
specialist.
Fault in one of the
working circuits
– Have the fault corrected by a hydraulics
specialist.
Noises when moving a
working cylinder
Cause Remedy
Piston rod of the
cylinder has no
lubrication
