18.3 Overview
Pad printing machines can be equipped with ink cups of different sizes and designs.
In the majority of cases, the principle structure of the ink cups is identical. Slight deviations
from the illustrated images are possible.
Assembly works are to be performed on a level and soft underlay (e.g. rubber mat) in
order to ensure that the sensitive blade edge belonging to the doctor ring is not damaged.

B is manufactured from carbide metal
or ceramics.

INSTRUCTION
Doctor rings must be handled with extreme care and may not be dis-
torted or fall.
• The hard material may fracture or become chipped if twisted or
subjected to a severe impact.
• The precisely ground blade edge may not exhibit any eruptions
or notches.
• Damage to the blade edge leads to ink leakage.
