Ballast Assembly Replacement

Repair Procedure
Step 1. Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source. Place the luminaire on the upper
enclosure.
Step 2. As shown in Figure 2-6, at the upper enclosure, remove four 6-32 x 1/4" screws and remove
both top covers.
Step 3. In each top corner, remove four 6-32 x 3/8" screws.
CAUTION: During the next step, do allow the front lens to contact anything that could damage the
lens coating.
Step 4. Set the luminaire on the front lens casting to access the ventilation cover.
Step 5. At bottom of the enclosure, remove four 1/4-20 x 1 5/8" socket screws and 1/4" split lock
washers. Remove the ventilation cover.
Step 6. Remove both handles by removing two 10-32 x 5/8" screws for each handle.
Step 7. At bottom of the enclosure, remove four 6-32 x 1/4" screws and remove both side covers.
Step 8. Remove two 6-32 x 3/8" screws, the APS end bracket, and the end cover from ballast side.
Step 9. At bottom of the enclosure, disconnect the exhaust fan cable.
Step 10. At the exhaust fan, remove four 8/32 x 3/8" screws. Remove the exhaust fan.
Step 11. At the ballast, disconnect the following cable assemblies:
a. AC input at the wiring connector (attached ferrite remains with the ballast)
b. lamp wires
c. control wiring
Step 12. Hold the ballast assembly to prevent it from falling. At bottom of enclosure, remove three 8-
32 x 3/8" flat-head screws and four 8/32 x 3/8" philister-head screws, which secure the
ballast assembly to the enclosure.
Step 13. Carefully remove the ballast from the enclosure to avoid damage to cable assemblies.
