Tilt Motor Assembly Replacement
VL Part No: 21.9678.0765
Repair Procedure
To remove and replace the tilt motor assembly:
Step 1. Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source.
Step 2. As shown in Figure 2-16, at the tilt-side leg, remove yoke leg cover by removing four 6-32 x
5/16" PPB screws.
Step 3. At tilt motor assembly, loosen four 10-32 x 1/2" PPZ screws.
Step 4. Remove belt from tilt pulley.
Step 5. Remove four 10-32 x 1/2" PPZ screws. Remove tensioning springs.
Step 6. Disconnect wiring and remove the tilt motor assembly.
Step 7. Replace by performing steps 2 through 6 in reverse order.
Note: Make sure wiring is not pinched during installation. When tightening four 10-32 x 1/2" PPZ
screws that fasten the tilt motor assembly, you must tighten then in a CLOCKWISE pattern starting
with the screw in lower left-hand side.
To remove and replace the tilt motor belt:
Step 1 Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source.
Step 2. As shown in Figure 2-16, at the tilt-side leg, remove yoke leg cover by removing four 6-32 x
5/16" PPB screws.
Step 3. At tilt motor assembly, loosen four 10-32 x 1/2" PPZ screws.
Step 4. Remove belt from tilt pulley.
Step 5. Remove four 10-32 x 1/2" PPZ screws. Be mindful of tensioning springs.
Step 6. Disconnect the following wiring and remove tilt assembly:
a. Disconnect lamp wire from ignitor.
b. Remove ignitor assembly mounting bracket (leave ignitor attached to bracket) by
removing three 6-32 x 3/8" PPZ screws and 1/4" standoff.
c. Disconnect ground wire from stud using 3/8" nut driver.
d. At interconnect, disconnect 80mm fan wiring.
Step 7. Remove belt.
Step 8. Replace by performing steps 2 through 7 in reverse order.
