Chapter 3 WCDMA Non-Call Mode
RF Generator
WCDMA Options Version 6.20

ON/OFF — Display field for the current output status of the RF Generator. When
ON is displayed, RF signals are output; when OFF is displayed, the RF Generator
is silent.
To toggle between the two states, use the
Gen. Off or Gen. On softkey, respec-
tively.
Modulation — Selection field to turn modulation on or off.
Selections possible: FM, WCDMA or none.
Additional WCDMA modulation
parameter fields
Bit Pattern — Selection field for the bit pattern for the Reference Measurement
Channel. Possible selections are: 0000..., 1111..., 1010..., PRBS-9, PRBS-15 and
PRBS-23.
Slot Format — Display field for the slot format of the RMC.
Scrambling Code — Entry field for the scrambling code to be used. Valid value
range: 1 to 127.
Spreading Factor — Display field for the spreading factor.
Power relative to: — This display fields indicates wether the power levels for the
channels are calculated in relation to the I
or
or the CPICH_Ec.
DPCH [dB/Off] — This display field indicates whether the DPCH is activated.
Furthermore the relevant power level is shown. The Dedicated Physical Channel
is used in UL and DL to carry the DPDCH (Dedicated Physical Data Channel) and
the DPCCH (Dedicated Physical Control Channel). The DPDCH transmits the user
data whereas the DPCCH transports the pilot symbols, the control commands for
fast power control as well as rate information (TFCI, Transport Format Combina-
tion Indicator).
OCNS [dB] — This display field indicates whether the orthogonally coded noise
source is activated.
You can change individual test parameters shown in the display fields on the
Basic parameter screen. In order to access this screen press the
Param softkey
in the RF Gen. menu. For further details on changing parameters refer to “Basic
System Parameters” on page 66.
NOTE
Setting “none” means that the RF output signal generated by the 4400 will be
unmodulated, i.e. a pure carrier sine wave.
NOTE
In remote mode (via SCPI) the power levels of the individual code channels
can only be set relative to I
or
(output power). Furthermore in remote mode
you have to make sure that the sum of the power levels for all code channels
plus OCNS is equal to I
or
.
