Power menu Power control is an important aspect for optimum WCDMA network perfor-
mance. The power measurement menu enables you to check proper behaviour of
the UE in the real network. The purpose of the power measurements performed
is for example to verify that the UE’s maximum output power corresponds to the
nominal maximum output power and tolerance required. An excessive maximum
output power can cause interference with other channels or systems. On the
other hand, if the UE’s maximum output power is too small, the coverage area
decreases. Both situations have an adverse effect on system capacity.
To gain access to this menu select the [Power...] marker tab.
Min./max. power test After you have selected the [Power...] marker tab the Min Max test menu will be
displayed by default.
Function This menu shows different types of measurement. Each measurement type repre-
sents the mobile transmit power. The types of measurement are referred to as the
Power measurement (affected by the RF Out level and the currently selected
power control mechanism) and the Min. and the Max. measurement (taken at the
respective base power level, with power control set to Up or Down, respectively).
There is only one type of measurement being performed at any time.
M.I [dB]

the marker position (channel selected in the input field
on the left-hand side).
M. Q [dB]

the marker position (channel selected in the input field
on the left-hand side).
