Chapter 2 WCDMA Call Mode
Common elements of the call mode menus
40 WCDMA Options Version 6.20
Ior [dBm] Entry field for the output power, i.e. the power level used by the
simulated WCDMA base station (Node B) to transmit information/data. Setting
higher or lower power levels simulates a different distance between the User
Equipment (UE) and Node B.
Without coupling loss the entry range for the output power is –120 dBm to
–20 dBm. However, coupling loss (CL) has to be taken into account for measure-
ments. Thus, the following formula applies to the valid value range for this field:
I
or
+ CL –20 dBm
If you define a coupling loss of 15 dB for example, the formula would read:
–35.6 dBm + 15 dB
–20 dBm
The default for this field is –60 dBm.
UL Target Pwr [dBM] Entry field for the uplink target power. This is similar to
the power level at which the UE should transmit. The 4400 will control the UE
using power commands in order to achieve this target value. This is especially
useful for measurements requiring higher UE power values.
Status
The status area shows the overall results of the current test and the signaling
status.
Test
NOTE
The parameter fields described are available on the following menus: Basic
menu, Modulation Quality, Power, BER/BLER and UE Info.
PASS
All measurement results of the current test are
within their limits.
FAIL
This mark indicates that test limits have been vio-
lated by the measurement results.
---- (four hyphens)
Will be displayed when the measurement has not
been started yet or when there are no limits
available for the current test.
