Staircase Power
This menu offers specific functions that are required by specific mobile phone
manufacturers. The staircase power measurement is therefore commonly used in
connection with the relevant manufacturer-specific software which in this case
also provides the measurement parameters. During this measurement the UE is
instructed to transmit in different power steps. Then all steps in the output
power of the UE are measured in a fast sequence. The UE can then be tuned
according to the measurement results.
To gain access to this menu, select the [Staircase] marker tab while working in
Generator/Analyzer mode.
Parameters # of Steps — Entry field for the number of steps in the output power that are
to be measured.
Step Size — Entry field for the size of the output power steps. The size is indi-
cated in microseconds.
