Chapter 2 WCDMA Call Mode
Overview
38 WCDMA Options Version 6.20
Overview
This section covers information on WCDMA measurements in synchronous (call)
mode.
The Willtek 4467 Call Mode Option comprises WCDMA signaling and supports
the WCDMA registration procedure (UTRAN Registration Area Update, URA) as
well as the call setup procedure. By simulating a WCDMA cell and supporting the
above-mentioned procedures the call mode option enables you to perform
measurements under everyday operation conditions as part of final or functional
tests in manufacturing lines as well as in service after repair and alignment. The
supported measurements include the necessary transmitter measurements, e.g.
minimum and maximum output power, frequency error, transmit modulation
spectrum, Occupied Bandwidth (OBW), Adjacent Channel Leakage Power Ratio
(ACLR), Spectrum Emission Mask (SEM) and modulation quality. Furthermore the
following receiver measurements are supported: Reference sensitivity level
(evaluation via Bit Error Rate and Block Error Rate measurements) and maximum
received power.
For further information on WCDMA measurements, see “Testing User Equipment
on WCDMA channels” on page 45. See “Common elements of the call mode
menus” on page 39 for a description of call mode menu screen elements. Addi-
tional test parameters and limits are explained in section “System parameters”
on page 64, and section “WCDMA basics” on page 81 covers some more general
aspects of the WCDMA standard.
To select synchronous test mode, proceed as follows:
1 Go to the Welcome menu (see following picture)
2 Push the marker tab for the WCDMA system option.
3 Push the
Calls & Meas. softkey.
