Paper Empty Condition Detection
■ The Tray1 Paper Empty Sensor (PC9) is located on the underside of Tray1, detecting the
paper loaded in the tray.
■ When there is paper loaded in the tray, the actuator drops into the tray, unblocking the
sensor light.
■ When paper runs out, the actuator is raised, blocking the sensor light.
Paper Feed Retry Function
To reduce the number of paper misfeeds detected due to failure to take up and feed in paper
properly, another paper feed sequence is carried out if the Registration Sensor (PC1) is not
unblocked and blocked within a predetermined period of time.
