1 Both network lines might
be broken, measure and
check the network lines.
2 Sending and receiving
direction of the network
lines are reversed,
check the NW/T, NW/R,
NE/T and NE/R
connectors for the
correct network line.
3 A hardware error has
occurred. Replace or
return the module to
ADVA Optical
Networking for repair.
Red Orange Red Red blink-
ing
OTDR Time Interval is
activated (data transmission is
not interrupted) or both RSM-
OLM modules are locked to
different lines (data
transmission is interrupted).
1 Check the OTDR
setting.
2 Check the line mode
settings of both RSM-
OLM modules. Set both
line modes to “Auto” or
lock both RSM-OLM
modules to the same
line.
Green Orange Green Green
blinking
RSM-OLM is locked to a line.
Both lines are available, active
line is green, protected line is
blinking green.
Set the line mode to “Auto”.
Green Orange Green Red
blinking
RSM-OLM is locked to the
active line. Protected line is not
available (red blinking). No
switching possible.
Note – If the protected line is
red blinking on both RSM-OLM
modules, the protected line is
not available in both directions.
If the protected line is red
blinking on only one RSM-
OLM, the transmit direction of
this RSM-OLM is not available.
Check the protected network
line and set the line mode to
“Auto”.
