W-CDMA Digital Modulation for Component Test
W-CDMA Downlink Modulation
Figure 15-5 Multicarrier Setup Page 2
You now have a user-defined 3-carrier W-CDMA waveform with a 3 DPCH carrier at frequency offset of
−2.5 MHz, with a power of −10.00 dBm, a primary scramble code of 5, a timing offset of 3, an initial phase
of 8, and pre-FIR clipping at 50%.
Clipping the Multicarrier Waveform
1. Press
Mode Setup > More (1 of 2) > ARB Setup > Waveform Utilities > Composite Waveform Clip.
2. Press
Clip |I+jQ| To > 80 > %.
The composite multicarrier waveform is now set to be clipped at 80 percent of its original peak value. The
waveform is clipped after FIR filtering.
NOTE If the waveform is active (W-CDMA Off On set to On), clipping settings are not applied until
you press the Apply Multicarrier softkey.
Generating the Waveform
Press
Mode Setup > W-CDMA Off On until On is highlighted.
This generates a waveform with the user-defined multicarrier W-CDMA state created in the previous
sections. The display changes to Multicarrier Setup: 2 Carriers (Modified). Note that
2 Carriers refers to the number of carriers in the predefined configuration, not the number of carriers in the
user-modified waveform.
