5.2.9.3. Control States
Message Description
Conguring The XM unit is being congured to send certain periodic messages (such as signal quality and time)
Listening Only The EFD is in listen only mode, which means that a dierent EFD is controlling the XM receiver, but this unit will still display
any weather product that is received. Initializing the XM unit and responding to errors is the responsibility of the other EFD,
and this unit is only passively listening.
Operational Normal operations mode, where any data products received will be displayed.
Powering Up Initializing communications with the XM unit
Retrying Doing a “Soft Boot of the XM unit by sending a power down command and waiting 15 seconds.
Saving Cong Periodically, the units conguration is saved (such as subscription data) and reboots. This is done automatically and is
synced by XM such that no weather data products are lost during the cycling.
Tuning Searching for the satellite signal, and tuning to the correct frequency for the weather products
Validating - Done The validation of the content channels is complete
Validating - x Validating the content channels for the weather products. There are 11 content channels that can be used for the XM
weather products, so each one is individually validated.
