1.1.6. Evolution Weather Receiver (EWR50)
and Antenna - Optional
The optional Evolution Weather Receiver (EWR50) provides the ability to receive XM WX
Satellite Weather data with a paid subscription to XM WX Satellite Weather. The EWR50
consists of a receiver and antenna. The EWR50 converts the XM WX Satellite Weather
data into a digital format displayed on the EFD1000/500 MFD (Figure 1-9).
1.1.7. microSDHC Card
The EFD1000/500 MFD is supplied with a microSDHC (Secure Data High Capacity) card
that stores various data used for the Navigation Map information and Terrain Awareness.
The microSDHC card is also used for eld upgrades .
The EFD1000/500 MFD uses a Secure Digital (SD) card to load and store various types
of data. For basic ight operations an SD card is required for Terrain, Obstruction, and
Navigation database storage.

installed on the aircraft.
