■ Adjustment Procedure
CAUTION:
Outline of the adjustment for the paper Flotation fan is as follows.
• To adjust the fan levels with the service mode defines reference values of the fan levels (upstream/
downstream) for each deck.
• Different reference values can be set for individual deck.
• Reference values are set for a deck and affect all types, weights and sizes of paper.
Therefore, if the fan levels for only some type of paper have to be adjusted, use the user mode.
User mode:[Settings/Registration]> [Preferences]> [Paper Settings]> [Paper Type Management Settings]> [Adj.
Ppr Separation Fan Level]
• With the Service mode, adjust the value of the fan levels for each deck. (The adjusted value of the fan level
affect all paper types, weights and sizes.)
• With the User mode, adjust the value of the fan levels for each paper type. (The adjusted value of the fan level
affect all decks.)
Actually applied fan level after the service mode and user mode adjustment becomes a sum of their setting values.
Reference value set with service mode (ex. +3) + Adjusted value with user mode (ex. -1) = +2
1. Execute the following service mode and set amount of the airflow between -10 to 10. The airflow is increased by an
increment of the setting value.
• upstream
COPIER > OPTION > FEED-SW > MD-ALVU1/2/3 (M Deck Upper/Middle/Lower)
COPIER > OPTION > FEED-SW > MD2ALVU1/2/3 (Sec M Deck Upper/Middle/Lower)
(LV2)
• downstream
COPIER > OPTION > FEED-SW > MD-ALVD1/2/3 (M Deck Upper/Middle/Lower)
COPIER > OPTION > FEED-SW > MD2ALVD1/2/3 (Sec M Deck Upper/Middle/Lower)
(LV2)
NOTE:
Enter the same setting value for upstream and downstream.
2. Print out from the Multi-drawer Paper Deck and check the paper separation. Adjust the paper separation again in
case that it is not optimum air flow amount.
Adjusting the pressure of the Deck Separation Roller
In case that the pickup failure or double feeding by the feed failure of the Deck Pickup/Feed Roller occurs, change the position
of the Drive Transmission Gear of the Deck Separation Roller.
■ Preparation
1. Release the lock to open the target Deck. “Releasing the Deck” on page 77
