Input the correct values. The fields are defined as follows:
• Counting Period This determines how long the urine sample, room background and
the Co57 Standard will be counted. The units are in seconds. Enter
the real time desired. The unit counts for real time and then
corrects for any dead time in the calculation.
• Dilution Factor The ratio of the activity of the Co57 capsule to the activity of the
Co57 Standard. When using a 1% standard, the Dilution Factor
equals 100.
• Aliquot Volume Volume of urine taken from the full urine volume collected.
• Urine Volume Volume of urine collected over the duration of the test period. If the
urine has been diluted to a convenient volume (such as 2000 ml),
use this value.
When the data are correct, press the F4 [OK] key. The Schilling Test Measure Standard
Screen (
Figure 15-3) will appear.
