Figure 6-5
While adjusting the fine gain of the CAPTUS
®
600 Pulse Height Analyzer (PHA), the unit
counts until the number of counts is sufficient for accurate calibration. Once the unit has
achieved a fine gain adjustment to within one channel, the unit will count until the number of
counts in the highest channel equals 1000 counts. The system uses the last peak measured
to calculate the energy resolution of the detector.
When the test is complete,
Figure 6-6 will appear.

Figure 6-6
Test will print the results automatically. If the printer is off-line, or there is no printer
connected to the CAPTUS
®
600, a check printer message will appear on the screen and
prompt you to press any key to continue. If the printer is still off-line, or no printer is attached
to the system, the test data will be displayed on the screen.
The printout will show total counts in the ROI corresponding to the Cs137 peak or, if a
Conversion Factor has been stored for Cs137, activity will be printed.
If the Calibration Test fails, perform an Autocalibration function as described in the
AUTO
CALIBRATION TEST
section on page 6-5. Repeat the Calibration Test. If it fails another
time, contact Capintec’s Authorized Service Center for service.
