To configure the specified action when the number of MAC addresses learned on a bridge is reached, use the
maximum command in L2VPN bridge group bridge domain MAC limit configuration mode. To disable this
feature, use the no form of this command.

Syntax Description
Maximum number of learned MAC addresses.
For Release 5.1.0, the range is from 5 to 512000.
For Release 5.1.1, the range is from 5 to 128000.

The default maximum value is 4000.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.
The action can either be flood, no flood, or shutdown. Depending on the configuration, a syslog, an SNMP
trap notification, or both are issued.

Examples
The following example shows when the number of MAC address learned on the bridge reaches 5000 and the
bridge stops learning but continues flooding:
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router# configure
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router(config)# l2vpn
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router(config-l2vpn)# bridge group 1
